Hello I’m Leela, the artist behind the pottery.

Rooted in the wild beauty of Devon, from moorlands and rolling hills to rugged coastlines, my pottery blends contemporary design with ancient influence.

Each piece is handmade using glazes I formulate from scratch and fire in electric, gas, and wood kilns.

I often incorporate wild clay, gathered in small, sustainable quantities from local deposits, grounding my work in the very landscape that inspires it.

Environmental responsibility is central to my practice: I minimise waste, fire efficiently, and package without plastic.

My work is a celebration of nature, storytelling, and the timeless beauty of handmade craft.

Wild clay.

A masterclass by Ceramic Review on how I forage and test wild clays to determine their throwing and firing potential, plus how I use it in my slip-decorating process.
