Small Mug in Sunset Shino - Reduction-fired
Small mug, wheel-thrown with hand-pulled handle, trialed and tweaked over time to be comfortable to hold. Perfect for little cups of hot drinks.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours and textures and speckles.
The glazes used are made from scratch with raw ingredients that I carefully, weigh, mix and sieve by hand. Each mug is unique and may vary to those photographed and between batches.
