Wheel-thrown small cup made with a Cornish clay, decorated with porcelain slip and hand cut paper stencils.
This piece is fired in a gas kiln, in a reduction atmosphere. By controlling the amount of oxygen the kiln receives, unique and highly varied results can be achieved, resulting in distinctive colours, textures and speckles.
However these cups can be used for tea, coffee, or cold drinks. Simply hold the cup by the rim and base ring for boiling hot drinks.
